Melt & Pour Soap Loaves


Follow this basic method for any of the recipes below:

  • Melt the soap base in a bain marie
  • Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly
  • Add vegetable oil or butter and mix in slowly to prevent frothing
  • Add fragrance oil or essential oil and stir gently
  • Add soap dye a few drops at a time until you get a shade you like
  • Stir in petals/herbs/other additives
  • Pour slowly into mould and leave to set overnight
  • Remove from the mould and slice into 10 equal bars

Calendula & Citrus Soap

You will need:

  • 975g Transparent Soap Base
  • 20ml Calendula Oil 
  • Few drops of Amber Liquid Dye
  • 15g of Citrus type Fragrance Oil or Essential Oil blend (Lemon, Sweet Orange etc) 
  • Calendula Petals
  • 1kg Loaf Soap Mould

Geranium & Fennel Soap

You will need:

  • 1kg Organic Soap Base 
  • A few pinches of Pink French Clay Powder for colouring
  • 10ml of Geranium Essential Oil plus a few drops of Sweet Fennel Essential Oil
  • Half a level teaspoon of Fennel Seeds ground into a powder using a pestle and mortar
  • 1kg Loaf Soap Mould

Tip: Add the clay powder to a small amount of melted soap in a dish, mix until smooth and then add to the soap and stir in.

Lavender & Sea Salt Scrub Soap

You will need:

  • 800g Transparent Soap Base 
  • A few drops each of Violet and Purple Liquid Dyes
  • 10g of Lavender Essential Oil
  • Approx 200g of Fine Sea Salts (grind the salts for a less scubby soap)
  • 1kg Loaf Soap Mould

Tip: Sprinkle the salts evenly into the soap after you have poured it into the mould.
